Bathrooms

Bathrooms need to be the warmest room in the house, as you can imagine, so insulation is especially important in this room. When we renovate a bathroom in an old home, we strip the walls right back to the brickwork and original framing and after making sure all the walls are plumb and flat, and all corners are square. Our next step is to thoroughly insulate the exterior walls, including under the tub if it should be placed on an exterior wall. Once the walls are plumb and floor and ceiling is level, our electrician will run wiring for new lights and switches, and will install an exhaust fan in the ceiling. This gets vented directly outdoors in order to keep humidity down (warm, humid room will result in moldy ceilings, grout and caulking, so ventilation is a must.) Our plumber will rough in the plumbing for sinks, toilet, tub, shower, steam shower, bidet, and leave it under pressure to make sure there are no leaks. Tiles are often the most exciting design aspect in a bathroom, and we talk you through each and every corner and transition to make sure you’re happy with the finished product. We have wonderful custom cabinet makers to make your dream vanity.
